The Renault Nissan Alliance and EDF to test 100 electric vehicles in the Paris region in 2010
The Renault Nissan Alliance and EDF have announced the launch of a large-scale electric vehicle test in the Paris region. Under the terms of the agreement signed on October 9, 2008 by Pierre Gadonneix, CEO of EDF, and Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Renault and Nissan, the two partners plan to test the development of electric mobility for the first time in France during real-life trials in the Paris region.

EDF increases its shareholding in Austrian energy supplier ESTAG from 20% to 25%
EDF has just bought GDF SUEZ’s 20% holding in SIA (Société d’Investissement en Autriche). It is now the sole shareholder of this holding company, which owns 25% of Austrian energy supplier ESTAG (Energie Steiermark) alongside Land of Styria, which owns the remaining 75%.

Nuclear energy: the linchpin of safe and competitive electricity generation without CO2 emissions
Within a period spanning less than 20 years, EDF has built up a unique and competitive nuclear fleet in France, this fleet playing an instrumental role in securing the country’s energy supply : 58 reactors making up a total installed capacity of 63.1 GW and accounting for more than 85% of the electricity generated by EDF. This extensive fleet has earned France the rank of second largest nuclear power producer in the world, after the United States.
